11.May.2022 – V10 expounded with support from Revelation 17:15-16 explanation
This explanation of Holy Scripture peaceably demonstrates how Isaiah 27;
• Confirms Satan’s (Lucifer’s) destruction after judgement was a literal one (v1, v10-11).
• This chapter also shows how people go upward to the new heaven and earth above this earth, after existence on this earth (v12-13)
King James Bible
The Deliverance of Israel
1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
This chapter deals with the literal destruction of Satan, as we will read under verses 10-11, which include verse 1’s explanation.
2 In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.
3 I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.
After Satan was destroyed,
‘Look! Israel are above on the Holy Mountain of G-d, where they do not hurt or destroy (Isaiah 56:7, 65:21-22, 65:25).
The pleasant vineyard is kept safe in this sense.
4 Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.
5 Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.
Again on the Mountain (Zion), in the new heaven above, there are no Scripturally defined wicked people.
6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
Israel prospers as more and more are gathered to them in the new heaven and earth above.
7 Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
Israel are not struck like how the people of the nations struck them – meaning;
‘they are living in peaceful, joyous conditions in the holy city, the new Jerusalem and in the new heaven (Revelation 21:2-4).’.
Nor are Israel slain as their slayers (people of the nations) were slain – meaning;
‘the life of an Israeli who’s name is in the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 20:13, 20:15), is typically very long like the days of a tree above in the new earth (Isaiah 65:20, 65:22).
Whereas the life of a ‘sinner’ might not be as long naturally, and may be of a lower estate (Isaiah 65:20, Ezekiel 29:14-15).’.
8 In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
9 By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
Israel are disciplined with exile primarily from Zion the mountain in the new heaven and the new Jerusalem in the new earth.
The removal of foreign worship from their lives with their faith and observance means they have learned a lesson, turned from their sin – believing in Messiah (Christ) means everlasting life (Isaiah 50:10, John 14:1, Isaiah 28:16, Ephesians 2:20, John 3:14-16).
10 Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.
11 When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.
Satan’s judgement which ended in his literal destruction is described here.
With Verse 1, Verses 10-11 also speak of Satan as literally being destroyed here.
■ ‘…great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent… and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.’ (v1 ESV);
Leviathan is the dragon [and this is Satan] who is ‘slayed’ (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew word number 2026: ‘to kill, slay’).
This was at the time of Armageddon (Revelation 19:20, 20:9-10, Matthew 25:41), and his carcass was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur (Revelation 20:9-10).
■ ‘For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness…’ (v10 ESV)
Here Satan is described metaphorically as a once strong city, that is now deserted [can not be activley inhabbited] and forsaken – as he was literally destroyed.
This is very similar to how he is again described as a fallen city, that has been burned up with fire and was thus made desolate (Revelation 18:2, 18:8).
■ ‘…the calf grazes; there it lies down and strips its branches… (v11 ESV);
Mankind who worship Satan, are referred to here in prophecy as ‘wild beast(s)’ of the field.
These people (calf) feed on the deserted and forsaken Satan’s forbidden fruit (peaceably, this is not allowed Scripturally).
When a calf strips the branches – it takes the foliage/fruit.
The people (calf) lay down and this means they mistakenly feel safe worshipping the now judged and dead Satan who cannot even ‘teach’ (ref. Habbukak 2:19 ESV) – many however do not know that Satan was judged and literally destroyed and that’s why it says,
■ ‘…For this is a people without discernment…’ (v11 ESV);
Without conceit, those who take refuge in a dead, created spirit god are thus the people without discernment.
■ ‘…When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them…’ (v11 ESV);
Here, we know that spirutual angellic-type creatures dried and broke Satan by way of spiritual fire (judgement) of his boughs (main branches; his actual person).
We know that ‘Women’ is an alias for spirutual angellic-type creatures;
For example, ‘wisdom’ is the created being that became Christ (ref. Proverbs 8:12, 8:22-23, Proverbs 9:1, 9:10-11), and wisdom is referred to metaphorically as a female in Matthew 11:19, Luke 7:35;
‘The Son of Man … wisdom is justified by all her children.”’
(Luke 7:34-35 ESV)
Satan is also referred to as an immoral woman (ref. Proverbs 9:13, 9:17-18, Revelation 2:20-22, 2:24);
‘A woman of foolishness is boisterous…
That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.’
(Proverbs 9:13, 9:18 NASB2020)
So these angels were at Armageddon, together with the Messiah (Christ) whom sent fire which burned up Satan (Revelation 19:13-14, 14:10).
He is then given a ‘lake of fire and sulphur’ judgement status, and as he is a fallen, created spirit referred to as a ‘cherub’ (Ezekiel 28:14) – he is literally destroyed (Ezekiel 28:18-19, Revelation 20:9-10).
■ ‘…therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor.’ (ESV)
With regard to their existence above in the new earth, those who partake of the now destroyed Satan the Devil’s forbidden fruit, cannot negotiate their outcome for a grander existence above on the new earth, after they die, before they get there.
Isaiah 27:10 can be seen reflected in Revelation 17:15-16.
The people (Revelation 17:15) of the beast (Revelation 17:16) strip Satan’s branches, and make him desolate and naked as they devour his flesh and burn him up with fire (with their judgement; being given to wickedness (Isaiah 9:18-19) and of no discernment (ref. Isaiah 27:10-11) – they unawares deem him a speechless idol that cannot teach (ref. Habbukak 2:19 ESV) as they partake of any forbidden fruit that remained. They are unaware he has come to a literal end. We also see other symbollic accounts of beasts (mankind) eating the fallen over tree (fig. Satan) dead tree carcass of Satan (Ezekiel 32:4-11).
12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.
13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
At the great judgement of the underworld (Revelation 20:13-15) (fig. Egypt), the dead (grain) are gathered and judged.
Those of Israel are fewer in number, so they are ‘gleaned’ one by one (v12) – these along with those who were scattered amongst the nations who believed, have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life;
They all enjoy life more abundant in the new earth – they do not go to the second death (the lake of fire, this earth) straight away (Revelation 20:13, 20:15).
Those who do not find their names written in the Lamb’s book of life, are thrown into the lake of fire, very quickly (Revelation 20:15).
Hoping it is fruitful with you.
