Brief Summary

Sharing how the 123 years that Aaron the lecitical High Priest lived for, can be viewed sequentially (1->2->3), and this can symbolically represent;

1) The Levitical Priesthood,

2) The Messiah as High Priest in the order of Melchizedek,

and

3) Everlasting life without end by believing.

Begin

When the ancient Israelites escaped ancient Egypt in the great Exodus, Moses and his brother Aaron who became High Priest where key figures (Exodus 7:1).

Aaron the Levitical High Priest died during the Exodus at 123 years of age (ref. Numbers 33:39), before Moses.

This 1, 2, 3 amount of years that Aaron lived for is very interesting, as the numbers are sequential, and can thus be seen as a stepping stone.

Where do these numbers (1->2->3) lead?

By allusion, these numbers lead to the Messiah, and they also then lead to everlasting life in Olam Ha-Ba (life in the new heaven and new earth ref. Isaiah 65:17).

Here they are broken down;

1
Represents the Levitical Priesthood.

2
Represents the Messiah, and how David writes he is [High] Priest in the order of Melchizedek forever, because he loved righteousness and hated wickedness (Psalm 45:7, 110:4, Hebrews 4:14).

3
Represents the exclusive everlasting life a person may be blessed with in the new heavens and new earth by believing in the risen King Messiah (Christ) now (Isaiah 28:16, 28;18, Ephesians 2:20, John 3:16).

The Messiah being representation for the new covenant which ultimately means everlasting life without end at resurrection (Isaiah 42:6, 49:8, 53:11-12).

This is instead of a potential long life (ref. IBN EZRA on Isaiah 65:20), that ends in [eventual] perishing and what some might call ‘reincarnation’ back to this wicked earth known as the lake that burns with fire (ref. John 1:21, John 9:2, Revelation 21:8, Isaiah 65:20, 66:24, 2 Peter 3:7).

What About Moses?

We remember that Moses still stood after Aaron passed away all those years ago.

This represents how the Torah (the Law of Moses) is forever.

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
Psalm 119:160 ESV

With Aaron’s 123 years we then are led to Messiah (Christ) many, many years later, and, in a way, Moses still stands even by his side – even the High Priest in the order of Melchizadek (Christ).

This is said, as Moses is by Messiah’s side not only in person (since his resurrection), but in the form of Torah Law, of which the King Messiah (Christ) observes diligently and also instructs all of Hashem’s (the LORD’s) people to also diligently uphold;

Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:19‭-‬20 ESV

Hoping it is fruitful.

May the Holy G-d bless you beyond maximum believing in His risen Son the Lord Jesus Christ (Adonai Yehoshua HaMoshiach). Amen.
